Linux Professional Institute (LPI) launches LPI website in Slovak to better support the careers in Linux and open source of the Slovak IT Professionals
Bratislava, July 1st, 2014: The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization and its affiliate, LPI Central Europe, have launched the LPI website in Slovak language.
“The Slovak market offers a lot of potential and we have recently noticed a strong increase of LPI exam numbers in that region. LPI Central Europe signed first agreement with a local partner, the Society for Open Information Technologies (SOIT, Spoločnosť pre otvorené informačné technológie in Slovak), association of people who advocate the use of open information technologies in diverse areas of the society. Our Slovak partner offered a great support with the translation of the website and we want to thank them very much for this sponsoring. We believe the launch of the LPI website in the Slovak language will allow us to stay closer to the Linux and Open Source community in Slovakia and to better support the careers in Linux and Open Source of the Slovak IT professionals. We look forward to further growth and service improvements in this region” says Elzbieta Godlewska, LPI Representative for Slovakia, LPI Central Europe.
"SOIT is very happy with the partnership and look forward to further supporting the Linux and Open Source community, as well as IT companies, in Slovakia, through a deeper cooperation with LPI" adds Martin Šechný from SOIT.
LPI, recognized global leader in certification of Linux Professionals through the delivery of comprehensive, top-quality, vendor-independent exams, offers various certifications based on the hands-on skills the students have learned which are incremental and will showcase the valuable training that employers are looking for in today’s competitive marketplace. The details of the different levels of LPI certifications are available on https://www.lpice.eu/sk/lpi-certification-contents.html.
In June 2012, in response to the need for foundational learning on Linux and Open Source, LPI launched an innovative new program measuring foundation knowledge in Linux and Open Source Software. Targeted at new technology users, the “Linux Essentials” program is set to be adopted by schools, educational authorities, training centers and others. There are different ways to take an LPI exam. The standard channel is through the test centers of Pearson VUE, as an electronic version at the computer. The alternative way LPI exams are offered is through the paper versions at Linux events and fairs or at LPI academic (AAP) partners. LPI regularly organizes paper exams in order to support local Linux and Open Source events and to provide an opportunity for IT professionals to take LPI exams at promotional pricing. LPI will hold such first exam in Slovakia at the OSS conference in Zilina on July 3rd. Please see details on https://www.lpice.eu/sk/home/press-releases/first-lpi-paper-based-exam-in-slovakia.html
