Discounted LPI Exams at CeBIT 2011, Chemnitzer Linux-Tage and LPI ATP Partner "TCP 4 IT"

(Kassel, Germany, February 14, 2011) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Central Europe ( offers reduced LPI exams at  CeBIT 2011 and Chemnitzer Linux-Tagen. Moreover, LPI will take an active part at CeBIT with a presentation at CeBIT Open Source Forum and a daily quiz on Univention's stage.

At CeBIT 2011, reduced LPI exams will be offered as paper based tests as well as computer based tests in a Pearson VUE test center.

All LPI testing will take place at "Multi-Media Berufsbildende Schule Hannover (MMBBS)", Expo Plaza 3, Hanover, Germany. The LPI Approved Academic Partner MMBBS Hannover is directly at the CeBIT main entrance “Messe Ost“. Directions can be found under:
Paper based tests take place on Thursday March 3, Friday March 4, at 2 pm and 5 pm and on Saturday March 5, at 2 pm. 

The Pearson VUE test center for computer based tests at MMBBS is open for LPI Testing on Tuesday  March 1, Thursday March 3, and Friday March 4, from 9 am – 6 pm.
The following LPI exams will be offered:
- LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 (101, 102, 201, 202) –  German and English
- LPIC-3 (302, 303 and 304) – English
Additionally the exam LPI 301 in English and the exam Univention Certified Professional (LPI 198) in German are only offered as paper based tests. Paper based LPI exams cost 80,00 EUR each. LPI 301 costs 100,00 EUR. At the Pearson VUE test center during the CeBIT, LPI exams cost 95,00 plus VAT each.

At the Chemnitzer Linux-Tagen LPI offers as well reduced exams as paper based tests. These exams take place on  Sunday March 20, at 13:30 am and 12:30 pm. Further information can be found here:

LPI Approved Training Partner "TCP 4 IT" in Kiel, Germany, organizes an Open Day on Saturday March 19, where LPI offers exams at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. Further information can be found under:

Exam fees and the test range at the event in Chemnitz and Kiel are identical to the paper based tests at CeBIT, see above.

The exam fee for paper based tests has to be paid cash before taking the exam. The transaction for computer based tests has to be done by the candidate himself. LPI is not responsible for this. At the CeBIT Open Source Forum in Hall 2, Klaus Behrla from LPI will  report about LPI Online Training at Linux Magazine Academy on Friday March 4, from 5:30 pm – 5:45 pm and on Saturday March 5, from 4:00 pm – 4:15 pm.

On Univantion's stage in Hall 2, Booth D36, there will be daily from Tuesday to Friday a LPI quiz at 5 pm. Anselm Lingnau, author and trainer at Linup Front and Ingo Wichmann, trainer and Managing Director at Linuxhotel will test the audience's technical knowledge in an entertaining way.

LPI will be represented at an information booth in Hall 2, Booth D44, (150) in the topic area "Open Brain - Knowledge Solutions".
