The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) has now a local representation in Poland and in Czech Republic

Warsaw, January 25th. The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), recognized global leader In certification of Linux Professionals through the delivery of comprehensive, top-quality, vendor-independent exams (www.lpi.org), has now a local representation in Poland and in Czech Republic.
“We see a lot of potential on the markets in Poland and in Czech Republic. Already in the last year 2010 we had a very strong increase of LPI exam numbers in Poland and with a local representative we look forward to further growth and service improvements in this area” says Klaus Behrla, LPI Central Europe.
The Linux Professional Institute builds and maintains a professional skill standard in the Linux and Open Source Software area that is supported throughout the world by the IT industry, enterprise customers, community professionals, government entities and the educational community. LPI's certification program is supported by an affiliate network spanning five continents and is distributed worldwide in multiple languages in more than 7,000 testing locations. The LPI hosts three different partner programs for training and solution providers. The first one is for commercial training providers, LPI Approved Training Partner Program (http://www.lpi-training.eu) and the second one, LPI Approved Academic Partners Program, for non commercial organizations. These two programs are built up to insure a high quality in Linux training through the use of qualified trainers and certified training material. The third partner program, LPI Certified Solution Provider, is founded for computer retailers and software solution providers. For this program LPI Central Europe hosts an own web platform at www.lpi-solution.eu.
There are different ways to take an LPI exam. The standard channel is through the test centers of Pearson VUE and Thomson Prometric, as an electronic version at the computer. In 2010 LPI signed partnership agreement with Novell. As a result, holders of LPIC certifications are eligible to apply for and receive the Novell Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) certification at no additional cost or exams.
