New version of qualification Univention Certified Professional by LPI is available now

(Kassel, Germany: January 13, 2014) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, published a new version of the qualification “Univention Certified Professional” (UVCP). The objectives have been adapted to the Linux distribution's newest version "Univention Corporate Server" (UCS) 3.2. The new version of the UVCP exam will be offered for the first time at the Univention Summit 2014 in Bremen, Germany.


To obtain the certificate “Univention Certified Professional (UVCP)”, candidates must take the LPI exams LPI-101 and LPI-102, as well as the UVCP exam for Univention Corporate Server (UCS) and its products. With this certificate, candidates can show, besides their basic Linux knowledge, also their in-depth knowledge about the Linux platform UCS with its specific identity and infrastructure management, and it is intended for system engineers and administrators. The UVCP exam (LPI-198) is only available in English and as paper based exam. During the Univention Summit 2014 there is an exam event at Univention, Bremen on January 17, 2014 at 10am. The UVCP exam fee is 85,- EUR. Employees of companies, who are either Univention Premium Partner or Univention Partner, can take the exam for 75,- EUR. Besides the UVCP exam, all other LPI exams (Linux Essentials, as well as LPIC-1/-2, and -3) can be taken for a promotional price at the event on January 17, 2014.
