Linux Professional Institute (LPI) with workshops, discounted exams and more at LinuxTag 2011 in Berlin

(Kassel, Germany, April 18, 2011) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization (http://www.lpi.org) will be official certification partner at the congress "LinuxTag 2011" (http://www.linuxtag.org) in Berlin.

LPI will participate with the following activities at LinuxTag 2011:

- LPI EXAMS:

LPI exams will be offered at the following days and times:

* Thursday, May 12, 2011, 10:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm

* Friday, May 13, 2011, 10:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm

Currently there are more than 90 registrations for the exam lab at LinuxTag. We recommend each candidate to register in advance, because there is only a certain number of seats available. The registration form can be found under:

All LPI exams take place in room Regensburg Hall 4.1 at Messe Berlin, Messedamm 22, 14055 Berlin. A map to the room is available under.

- LPI WORKSHOPS:

On Wednesday May 11, 2011, 3-5pm in room Regensburg, Hall 4.1, there will be a workshop about LPI exam development with Medina Dupuis, project manager LPI Inc., and G. Matthew Rice, Director exam development. Currently there are worldwide consultations about the development of two new exams "Linux Basics" and "LPI Virtualization and Cluster Technician" (VCT), see http://wiki.lpi.org/wiki/LPI-VCT. This workshop is about receiving feedback on the developments. Every visitor, who is interested in LPI exam development, is invited.

With regard to the new cooperation between LPI e.V. and FSuB e.V./ Sklolelinux, there will be presentations on "Skolelinux in Practice", "LPI in class" and "Skolelinux – the way from honorary office to certification" on Saturday May 14, 2011, in room Regensburg Hall 4.1, 10am-1pm. This workshop is for everyone, who is active in "Free Software and Learning".

- LPI CLASSROOMS:

In the Open Source Arena, there will be on May 11, May 12, and May 14, each 12pm-1:30pm an classroom event with recent news about LPI certification. These presentations are for companies as well as private individuals, who would like to know more about LPI. Further information are available under:

Furthermore LPI has an information stand in Hall 7.2a, stand #138. as special activity, every lpi certified person, who visits the stand and verifies his LPI certification, receives an LPIC pin for free each with his level (LPIC-1, -2, or -3).
